Sony Online Entertainment (SOE) has sent word that the role-playing game, Gauntlet II will be available as a downloadable title on the PlayStation Network. Gauntlet II was released in 1986 and was a sequel to the original game that was released in 1985.
Gauntlet II, which will be made available to the PS3 users, will have the same dungeon crawling action that featured in the original 1986 game. The game boasts of more than hundred levels. What makes the game different is the multiplayer feature. PS3 gamers will be able to play through the PlayStation Network along with tracking wins and checking the leaderboards.
Gamers can choose to play as a Warrior, Valkyrie, Elf, or the Wizard in the game to defeat monster generators that roil out wave after wave of enemies. They have to also collect food for health and magic items for power-ups while working their way through the dungeon.
Gauntlet II is expected to hit the PlayStation Network on May 3, 2007. The game carries a price tag of $4.99 (approx. Rs. 205).
