Itagaki blames poor Devil’s Third previews on lack of gaming skills of previewers

Game designer Tomonobu Itagaki who is famous for have an outspoken personality has gone ahead and blamed the poor gaming skills of previewers for the bad response that Devil’s Third received after its recent previews. This Unreal Engine 3 game is a Wii U-exclusive that’s supposed to be published by none other than Nintendo.

Tomonobu Itagaki is pretty famous for his flamboyant nature and for being the main brain behind the Dead Or Alive series and the later Ninja Gaiden titles. In a sly Facebook post he made recently, he said that Devil’s Third actually ‘reflects the player’s skill directly/vividly,’ taking a subtle dig at the previewers who have panned it.

Not one but many media outlets who received a chance to try out an almost final version of the game recently, criticized it to great extent for its poor offerings. While Videogamer called it ‘one of the worst games Nintendo ever published,’ Eurogamer straightaway called it a ‘shoddy game.’

Itagaki also went on to blame the Wii U’s GamePad for the title’s awkward controls. He conveyed to fans that they should play the game with a Pro Controller and USB keyboard.

Devil’s Third is an action-adventure offering which features hack and slash as well as shooter gameplay. It kicks in single-player as well as multiplayer elements, and is under development at the moment from Valhalla Game Studios and Nintendo’s SPD branch.

Devil’s Third is set to be released in Japan on August 4, while it is scheduled to be outed in Europe and Australia on August 28 and August 29, respectively. There’s no word on when this game will be launched in North America.
