Mario and friends will be seen making their way into Nintendo’s Mario Party 9 which is slated to launch for the Wii across Europe on March 2, 2012. Brand new game modes, battles against bosses as well as playable characters from the Mushroom Kingdom will all form a part of this upcoming game.
The latest addition to the popular series has Browser and his buddies stealing all the Mini Stars from the sky. Now, it is up to the gamers to achieve the ultimate goal of winning them all back and become the Super Star. This title supposedly encourages gamers to think one step ahead of their opponents and collect the most Mini Stars in order to defeat Bowser.
A new board game mode named Party Adventure would also be found in the game, allowing four players to move through the board in a single vehicle. Turn by turn, they will be prompted to become the Captain of the vehicle by hitting Dice Blocks to move the party forward. This game mode apparently challenges players to work with and against their rivals in minigames to get the stolen Mini Stars back from Bowser.
A total of eighty new minigames are said to be a part of this title. These require gamers to perform everything from making pizzas, escaping haunted mansions to even racing snowmobiles. When playing on the board, the type of space on which the vehicle would land on, will determine what type of minigame is played.
Mario Party 9 will be released in Europe exclusively for the Wii on March 2, 2012. It is currently available for pre-order at a price of 30.38 GBP (approx. Rs. 2,370).
