Blaster Master Overdrive, Tomena Sanner Hit American WiiWare
Nintendo has sent word of this week’s downloadable titles for WiiWare and VC, and you’d be pleased to know that 4 titles make it to WiiWare while the VC gets the regular unity treatment. Blaster Master Overdrive, Tomena Sanner, Bloons, and Hubert The Teddy Bear Winter Games are available on WiiWare while Princess Tomato in the Salad Kingdom makes it to the Virtual Console.
Blaster Master Overdrive is an action-adventure game from Sunsoft for one player. The Earth is infected by an aggressive, polymorphic virus that is difficult to defeat, and animals worldwide have been transformed into flesh-eating creatures. Alex, one of the most brilliant biologists steps up to fight this crazy infection, and he has S.O.P.H.I.A., a shape-shifting, projectile-firing pawn of destruction on four wheels. Blaster Master Overdrive is available for 1000 Wii Points.
Tomena Sanner is from Konami and for one to four players. The game features Hitoshi Susumu, a businessman who won’t stop once he starts running. And in this 2D dance party, you must guide Susumu to his goals as fast as you can, encountering samurais, T-Rexes, cowboys and all sorts of obstacles along the way. Four players can compete for the fastest time. Tomena Sanner is available for 500 Wii Points.
Bloons is a puzzle game based on popping balloons. Each of the 70 levels in the game has a different arrangement of balloons, which you must pop using darts. There are also special balloons, blocks and darts. Bloons also has a level editor so that you can create your own balloon puzzles. The game is available for 500 Wii Points.
Hubert The Teddy Bear Winter Games is a party game from publisher Teyon in which players confront bunnies. Players can “outwit” the bunnies in eight winter activities including snow fight, sleigh ride, Christmas tree decoration, fishing, and more. The game has a few multiplayer modes and supports up to 16 players. Gamers can even create and customize a teddy bear to suit their style. Hubert The Teddy Bear Winter Games is available for 500 Wii Points.
On the VC is Princess Tomato in the Salad Kingdom from Hudson Entertainment for one player. The game features cute creatures and a good sense of humour. The Minister Pumpkin has rebelled against King Broccoli and dethroned him. Worse still, he has kidnapped Princess Tomato. You embody Sir Cucumber and set out to retrieve the “tomato”, toppling the “pumpkin”. But if you fail, you risk the entire Salad Kingdom being “tossed” into frenzy. Princess Tomato in the Salad Kingdom is available for 500 Wii Points.
