Don King Boxing coming soon on Wii and Nintendo DS, says 2K Sports
A new boxing game titled Don King Boxing has been announced for the Wii and the Nintendo DS by 2K Sports, which is Take Two’s sports publishing label.

The Wii boxing experience is all set to be changed with a heart-racing story mode, very accurate controls, and an addictive multiplayer system, as well as the revolutionary Wii balance board, which is optional.
“Don King Boxing has been specifically designed to take advantage of everything the Wii and DS have to offer,” 2K president, Christoph Hartmann commented. “We worked closely with Nintendo to make Don King Boxing a unique experience, especially using the Wii Balance Board. It is great for those who love boxing or those who just want a fun way to get some exercise.”
Madison Square Garden, Trump Taj Mahal and Boardwalk Hall are just some of the venues in which players can choose to fight, from a selection of over 20 licensed boxers in Don King Boxing. Players can deliver a range of moves and even dodge the opponent on the Wii balance board.
“Don King Boxing is not your prototypical boxing game,” Don King himself stated. “What we have done here is truly innovative and provocative. Our goal with 2K Sports was to create realistic motions that most closely resemble the actual training regimens of prizefighters for maximum results.”
King added to his comments by saying, “We’ve created our best set of real-life boxing exercises ever for Don King Boxing. It wouldn’t surprise me if a future world champion was introduced to the sport through this game. This is where you can get the skills that make for thrills.”
Don King Boxing will be available from March 31, 2009 for Wii and Nintendo DS. The game is developed by 2K China and the estimated price is about 29.99 USD (approx. Rs. 1,465).
