Pokémon Rumble on WiiWare, Street Fight II: Champion Edition for VC
This week Nintendo has released some games on its WiiWare service for zero Wii Points. Of course, these are demo versions of the games. This week, demos of Bit.Trip Beat, Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: My Life as a Darklord, NyxQuest: Kindred Spirits, World of Goo, and a new Pokémon game, Pokémon Rumble are available. The full version of Pokémon Rumble is also available. Meanwhile Indiana Jones’ Greatest Adventures and Street Fighter II’: Champion Edition make their way to the VC.

The first game on WiiWare this week is Pokémon Rumble, which is published by Nintendo and is for one to four players. The action game lets you take control of Toy Pokémon and battle wave upon wave of other Pokémon. You can even befriend some of the defeated Pokémon, adding them to your collection. Taking part in the Battle Royale, you can battle many Pokémon at once, and you can also save your favourite Pokémon to your Wii remote controller to exchange with your friends. Pokémon Rumble is available for 1500 Wii Points, and a demo version is also available for zero Wii Points.
Next up on WiiWare is the demo of Bit.Trip, the rhythm game in which players must use the Wii remote to bounce beats. Featuring retro visuals, classic gameplay, an 8-bit soundtrack and four player multiplayer, the demo can be downloaded for zero Wii Points.
Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: My Life as a Darklord is the next demo also available for zero Wii Points. The game, published by Square Enix, puts players in the shoes of the Darklord’s daughter as she tries to fight off the endless waves of invading adventurers. Players must fill their tower with monsters and Artifacts to prevent the adventurers from destroying the Dark Crystal on the top floor. The game is for one player.
NyxQuest: Kindred Spirits demo is from publisher Over The Top Games and for one or two players. The game tells the story of Nyx, a winged girl who comes down from heaven in search of her missing friend, Icarus. As players fly over the ruins of Greece, they must avoid falling into the blazing sands and being killed by the harpies and hydras. Players can even seek help from gods Zeus and Olympus. The demo is available for download for zero Wii Points.

Lastly for WiiWare is the demo of the game World of Goo, by 2D Boy. An award-winning physics-based puzzle/construction game, World of Goo commands players to use living, talking, squirming blobs of goo to build structures such as bridges, cannonballs, zeppelins and giant tongues. World of Goo demo is available for zero Wii Points.
On the Virtual Console front we have Indiana Jones’ Greatest Adventures originally for the Super NES. The no-thrills-barred adventure lets players slash through all three Indy classics, the giant boulder from Raider of the Lost Ark, the mine-cart chase from Temple of Doom, and the three trials from Last Crusade. Indiana Jones’ Greatest Adventures published by LucasArts for one player is available for 800 Wii Points.
Also for the VC is the game Street Fighter II’: Champion Edition, originally for the TurboGrafx16. Published by Capcom for one or two players, the game includes all the bonus stages and sound effects as the recreation of the dynamic arcade game. Players can choose from 12 characters and go up against opponents to decide the top fighter. Street Fighter II’: Champion Edition can be downloaded for 700 Wii Points.
