New Carnival Games Announced for Nintendo DS and Wii by 2K Play

A few months ago we had reported that Take Two had announced the 2K Play brand. Now they have sent word about two new titles for the Nintendo consoles. The games are Carnival Games for Nintendo DS and Carnival Games: Mini-Golf for the Wii. These games have been announced as a part of its brand extension strategy for the Carnival Games series.

Carnival Games

Carnival Games: Mini-Golf will have Carnival Bob and other characters from the original game. The game features larger-than-life, theme park style miniature golf courses and has action-oriented game play that makes full use of the Wii Remote. It has been designed for four players.

As for Carnival Games for the Nintendo DS, it will take full advantage of the handheld’s control mechanism. It features a hysterical amalgamation of tapping, blowing, speaking and stylus maneuvering that brings the now famous midway to life. Besides the Alley Ball, Frog Leap and Dunk Tank, there are new games such as Clown Hammer and RC Raceway.

Steve Lux is the vice president of business development for 2K Play. He explains, “The consumer response to Carnival Games has been astonishing. The game resonates with every demographic and the feedback we have got from moms, dads, kids and grandparents shows Carnival Games as one of the drivers of family game time. Our new games build on the strength of the first title and will promote this growing trend.”

Christoph Hartmann, President, 2K says, “The success of Carnival Games is proof that the casual game market continues to grow. We are enthusiastically working to expand the 2K Play label and are committed to producing fun, quality games for the mass market with the Carnival Games franchise paving the way.”
