Be it any kind of game, whether you talk about Grand Theft Auto, Manhunt or Mass Effect, there has always been some kind of controversy. One more controversy has been raging in the last few days over a game called as Frat Party Games: Beer Pong. Many parents were worried over the name and the ESRB had not given it a Adults Only rating.
But now, JV Games, the creator of Beer Pong for WiiWare has changed the name of the video game title. It is now called as Frat Party Games: Pong Toss. Here is a statement made by JV Games on their official blog:
- Hey everyone, as you may have noticed the name of our game has been changed. After concerns were raised about the game promoting drinking and since we never had any drinking in the game, we elected to change the name from “Beer Pong” to “Pong Toss” to better reflect it’s true contents and cater to a larger audience.
What’s more, JV Games has even changed the game description of Frat Party Games: Pong Toss on the official website. It does not have anything that points to either beer or any kind of alcohol.
