The Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask is headed to the 3DS next year

One of the most iconic games of all time, The Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask is all set to make its way onto the Nintendo 3DS in next year. This title was first launched for the Nintendo 64 console back in 2000, and was later ported to the Wii in 2009. The fact that it’s now coming to the 3DS means a visual overhaul will definitely be granted to it, with the focus being firm on stereoscopic 3D visuals which the handheld console excels in displaying.

The almost surreal adventure game which took the Zelda series into a completely new dark territory, will be seen hitting the device in the spring of next year, however, there’s no proper release date to look forwards to. Nintendo has revealed that this title will be made available in the form of a special edition as well. It will bundle the game with a pinbadge of the titular mask, a special steelcase and a double-sided poster.

A demand for the remake or a sequel for The Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask is being echoed by gamers since a pretty long time. Although a high-definition version for the Wii U would have been more appreciated by them, fans will be more than glad to make do with this 3DS release.

This game was the sixth main installment to the Zelda series, and the second among all of them to feature 3D graphics. It takes place in Termina, an alternate version of Hyrule and focuses on the Skull Kid who has stolen a powerful ancient artifact named Majora’s Mask. Using it, the Skull Kid has caused the moon to slowly start drifting towards Termina, and eventually crash into it after three days. As usual, it is up to the protagonist, Link to save the day by travelling back in time to the beginning of the three days.
