Two years back, Puzzle Bobble Galaxy based on the acclaimed Bubble Bobble arcade classic unfurled across the Nintendo DS system. Square Enix has now brought the latest adventure in the puzzle series namely Puzzle Bobble Universe to the newly-released 3DS system which is out in stores. The new game features Bub and Bob angled in more bubble trouble.
The dinosaur brothers encounter an unmanned spaceship and a distress call. The surrounding planets are emitting floods of bubbles that form into hazardous space-debris and are being released by ‘doors’. Bob is captured by the boss and it is up to Bub to safeguard the planets as well as its residents. The game enables players to match bubbles of the same hue in order to attain a good score while exploring the vast universe. There are new features incorporated into the title namely Gimmick Bubbles and Challenge Mode.
Furthermore, the Puzzle mode lets gamers traverse around 8 different worlds with each comprising of 10+1 stages that clock in at 88 stages in entirety. The Challenge Mode offers a selection of modes like Non-Stop Bubbles and timed games that see gamers popping as many bubbles as they can within a time limit of 100 and 300 seconds. Gimmick bubbles can execute various actions when popped such as Bomb Bubbles, Bonus Bubbles, Rainbow Bubbles, Rescue Bubbles and Side Bubbles.
Puzzle Bobble Universe is now available on the Nintendo 3DS across Europe and PAL territories.
