Square Enix has announced that Space Invaders Extreme 2, a new title from Taito based on the classic video game franchise, will be released across the PAL territories this October for the Nintendo DS handheld system. Space Invaders Extreme was released last year and the new game is a sequel. Space Invaders Extreme 2 features futuristic graphics, advanced audio, revamped gameplay, plus a completely new range of power-ups.
Larry Sparks, Vice President of Brand, Square Enix products said, “Space Invaders Extreme 2 is another quality arcade release from Taito that improves upon the original in every way possible. With more intense and exhilarating action, I am sure that fans will find this another thrilling and fun addition to the legacy of Space Invaders.”
The game features new additional stages, higher stage volume, and enhanced game system, enhanced battle play, a new beginners course, a new time attack mode, and a bingo system. And in addition to better audio, better graphics, a new range of power-ups, Space Invaders Extreme 2 also features background moves and ranking registration. Players can even play against a friend with Nintendo DS Wireless Play and DS Download Play and Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection.
Space Invaders Extreme 2 will be available across the PAL territories starting on October 2, 2009 for the Nintendo DS, while prices are not known.
