Animal Crossing Series Expanded via DSiWare Applications This Week

It’s that time of the week again when Nintendo sends word of new DSiWare releases. This week Nintendo reveals that on DSiWare, there will be two applications, both expanding on the popular Animal Crossing series.

Animal Crossing

The first is Animal Crossing Calculator which provides traditional calculating options with a Memory key and a display that gives up to thirteen digits. Also included is a unit converter for converting one unit into another such as weight, length, and volume. The application even lets users see the history of calculations performed. This unique addition to the Animal crossing series calls out the numbers pressed in an “Animalese pronunciation” and when the result satisfies certain conditions an Animal Crossing character appears on the screen. The application which is for one player is available for 200 Nintendo DSi Points.

Also available as DSiWare this week is Animal Crossing Clock which is for one player and 200 Nintendo DSi Points. The atmosphere of Animal Crossing can be experienced in Animal Crossing Clock. The application lets users set up to 3 alarms with snooze functionality and players can even assign a range of sounds to these alarms. DSi owners can use the sounds created in Nintendo DSi Sounds or create their own sounds. As time goes by, the color of the sky slowly changes and the different Animal Crossing characters appear.

Nintendo adds new titles and applications to the Nintendo DSi Shop every Monday at 9 am PST. The Nintendo DSi has parental controls allowing parents to maintain control over the content that their children can access.
