Prince of Persia Classic HD now brings a slice of royal action to portable devices in the form of a storied platformer. Available for the Apple iPad, iPhone and iPod touch, the latest entrant breathes life into the renowned series by infusing additional modes and a new gameplay style among other features into this iteration. Created by Jordan Mechner, the latest title offers a trio of modes namely, Survival, Time Attack and Normal.
Developed by Ubisoft, the game takes complete advantage of the Retina display on the iOS devices and consequently dishes out high-resolution art assets. In the Normal mode, players must learn different tricks and carefully understand the game if they want to make it successfully through each level without having to worry about the death penalty or time factor.
Next up is Time Attack where gamers are given just 60 minutes to find the princess. This quest however, is filled with loads of perils in the form of ruthless guards, deadly obstacles and tricky paths. The last of the three, the Survival mode, sees the fearless prince race against the sands of time, which is just limited to 60 minutes as well, to rescue the princess. The only catch here is that he has to make it through the various levels without dying.
There are many rewards awaiting the victor, besides of course, the sight of the unharmed princess. Portable device owners can put themselves on the competitive leaderboards where they can challenge their friends and see who emerges as the real Price of Persia. Besides unlocking Game Center Achievements, the title also allows players to share their scores with others through email and Facebook.
The Prince of Persia Classic HD price reads as 1.99 GBP (approx. Rs. 155) for the iPad version, while the iPhone and iPod touch variants can be picked up for 1.49 GBP (approx. Rs. 115), each.
