Taito has announced that Space Invaders and Cooking Mama are up for purchase at the App Store around the world. This signals the entry of Taito into the iPhone 3G and iPod Touch game market. Taito will carry on releasing legendary and new titles modified for the iPod Touch and the iPhone 3G.
Space Invaders was released in 1978 and has been played on a host of platforms such as arcade machines, home consoles, handheld consoles and mobile phones. Now Space Invaders utilizes the motion sensors and other touch inputs of the iPod Touch and iPhone 3G. The version of the game for the iPhone 3G and the iPod Touch features all the original moves like the ‘Nagoya Attack’ and also has some new bonus content.
Cooking Mama gives players a chance to see first hand, the various steps involved in making that gourmet meal, from chopping up the ingredients to boiling and frying the food. The game makes use of the multi-touch screen accelerometer and features recipes from older console versions of the game plus an array of completely new dishes.
