Transformers G1: Awakening Mobile Game to be Launched by Glu
Transformers G1: Awakening is the new title in development by Glu, a publisher of mobile games. Glu recently announced a fall launch for the mobile game following its 2007 Transformers success based on the Transformers movie.
Jill Braff, senior vice president of global publishing, Glu, commented, “Transformers has a vast consumer base worldwide, and we saw great enthusiasm and reception with the launch of our Transformers game last year. With Transformers G1: Awakening, we’ve incorporated classic elements true to the original franchise while creating an innovative and enthralling mobile strategy game that will appeal to Transformers fans new and old.”
With characters, visuals and storyline from the archetype Generation 1 series that proliferated the extremely popular and original cartoon in a pop culture phenomenon, Transformers G1:Awakening will let gamers venture back to the Transformers base. The highly anticipated mobile game is the second title to be licensed in an agreement between Hasbro’s licensing division HPG and Glu. Catching up with the rapidly evolving mobile gaming market, the license takes the Transformers characters brand to a new level.
To be available globally through Glu’s worldwide wireless network carriers, the enthralling Transformers G1: Awakening will be released in September 2008.
