EA to Supply Games for Nokia Mobile Devices

Nokia and Ea Games Mobile phones maker Nokia and Electronic Arts (EA) have apparently announced a partnership under which the latter becomes a major supplier of mobile games to Nokia mobile device owners through Nokia Content Discoverer.

Nokia says, this new agreement will enable their mobile customer’s easy access to downloadable games content through a collection of shopping mall “stores” on their mobile devices. In the beginning, Nokia customers will be able to download seven EA game titles, Tetris, Tetris Mania, The Sims2, Doom, FIFA 06, Tiger Woods PGA TOUR 06, and FIFA Street 2 this holiday season.

Electronic Arts is also planning to support Nokia’s next generation mobile games platform starting as early as mid-2007, with top EA titles that will be custom-designed for the Nokia S60 series.

Nokia and Electronic Arts will work together to develop a superior mobile gaming experience with enhanced game quality, outstanding performance, and intuitive delivery.

Electronic Arts is looking forward to working more closely with Nokia on promoting a delivery system that propels mobile gaming forward. This relationship will bring together Electronic Arts great brands and development studios with Nokia’s innovative hardware and global consumer reach.” said, Mitch Lasky, senior vice president, EA.

Jaakko Kaidesoja, director – games, multimedia, Nokia, said, “The core of Nokia’s games strategy is to make it easy for people to find, buy, and play great quality mobile games, and we are excited to expand our relationship with EA to help make that possible.”

Electronic Arts is planning to deliver a wide range of popular EA Sports and EA-branded mobile game titles at the launch of this next generation mobile gaming initiative.

Mobile devices makers Nokia also plans to launch its next generation mobile gaming platform by the first half of 2007. This next generation mobile gaming platform will make it easy for consumers to find, buy, play, and share rich and immersive games on a range of Nokia smart phones.
