The Elder Scrolls Online prepares for deployment next week, price in India out

Bethesda’s first MMO venture, The Elder Scrolls Online is all set to makes its way onto PCs all over the world on April 4. But that applies to regular gamers, as it has already been made available to those who had pre-ordered its digital copies as well as its Molag Bal-ruled Imperial Edition. The game’s distributors in India have made it clear that it will retail for PC at Rs 3,499.

This buy will net you a 30-day subscription, but further access will need to be purchased. One month’s worth of subscription will set you back by 14.99 USD (approx. Rs 900) which is debatable considering the fact that most big MMORPGs these days are going free-to-play. The folks over at the company have defended their decision to include subscriptions citing that the price will be justified by the ‘significant’ content which The Elder Scrolls Online will have on offer.

This game will take place on the fictional continent of Tamriel which has played host to all the epic role-playing games from The Elder Scrolls series. It will have its story set a millennium before the events of Skyrim and will bring open-ended multiplayer offerings to gamers. Its story will moreover be indirectly connected to the narratives of previous titles from the series. Developed by ZeniMax Online Studios, it will also be made available for the Mac on April 4 and for the PS4 and the Xbox One in June.

India will receive the PS4 version of The Elder Scrolls Online when it’s out, and interested buyers will have to dole out Rs 4,799 if they wish to buy it.
