The Elder Scrolls Online goes Official for PC and Mac

The world of MMORPG is likely to get even bigger with The Elder Scrolls Online making its arrival on PC and Mac. Developed by ZeniMax Online Studios, this title is apparently the first in the franchise which allows gamers to explore the ‘legendary Elder Scrolls world’ with others.

Being an online-based game, players should have access to various locations and lands such as Tamriel, Elsweyr and even Skyrim. The title is expected to take place a millennium before the events of Skyrim. As for the storyline, it’s likely to have a setting where Molag Bal, the daedric prince, carries out his plans of taking over the Tamriel.

“We have been working hard to create an online world in which players will be able to experience the epic Elder Scrolls universe with their friends, something fans have long said they wanted,” expressed Matt Firor, game director of The Elder Scrolls Online. “It will be extremely rewarding finally to unveil what we have been developing the last several years. The entire team is committed to creating the best MMO ever made – and one that is worthy of The Elder Scrolls franchise.”

According to the makers, first details about the new addition will be unveiled through the June issue of Game Informer that should stack up in stores and roll out to subscribers by the end of May. The most recent release for the franchise is The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim which managed to ship over 10 million units in a month from its initial release.
