MMORPG Based on Indian Mythological Characters to be Launched by Virgin Comics
Virgin is planning to develop a Massive Multiplayer Online Role Playing Game (MMORPG) based on its own version of Indian comics and for this they are planning to tie up with international gaming studios as well Indian gaming studios. It had recently launched a comic book on Ramayana. The MMORPG is scheduled to release in 2007. Virgin has also tied up with Paradox Studios to develop mobile games and content for its comics.
Sharad Devarajan, CEO, Virgin said, “The multiplayer game would be based on Indian mythic epics such as Ramayana, would create a universe for Virgin’s readers to connect and will then be used to reach across the characters (as brand images), comics, mobile content and animated features.”
It would be really interesting to see an Indian MMORPG especially on Ramayana and Mahabharata as well as other Indian myths and folklore.

This is the best news for the gaming industry so far, since most of the other mmo’s are stereo type , this game would be culture rich and will be a new experience for the gaming industry. i have played several mmo’s to the core and i simply cant wait for this one…
