Gamers looking to push their racing experience up a notch can get a load of the new Thrustmaster Ferrari 458 Italia racing wheel. The launch of this wheel comes as a result of a worldwide collaboration between Ferrari and Xbox 360. A replica of the F458 Italia car, this peripheral is touted to deliver a ‘truly immersive gaming experience.’
Thrustmaster reveals that the similarities of F458 Italia’s design and character with Xbox 360’s specifications are what prompted them to select this particular car for the wheel’s creation. This hardware will feature an 11 inch diameter wheel with a rubber-textured grip for better control. What’s more? For gear shifts, the device is equipped with built-in metal shifters.
The fact that it has been licensed by Ferrari alone ensures the authenticity of this product. And that’s why, the Italian carmaker’s trademark Manettino dial also makes its way to the racing wheel. This dial can be exploited to perform various functions like changing player views and more. Bundled with the device, is a pedal base carrying a wide footrest, a long-stroke accelerator pedal and a resistant brake pedal as well.
Eight action buttons along with an ‘Engine Start’ D-pad and the Xbox 360 Guide button are mounted on this racing wheel. Moreover, it also bears a connector for the Xbox 360 headset and microphone. Inside this peripheral, lies a ‘Bungee Cord’ automatic centring system which looks to further enhance the gaming experience by offering resistance above a 270-degree angle.
The Thrustmaster Ferrari 458 Italia Racing Wheel for Xbox 360 will be made available in October at a price of 89.99 USD (approx Rs. 4,117).
