Firebird Studios: Dedicated Graphics Department for Xbox 360?

Roughly a year ago Microsoft crafted “343 Industries,” a dedicated studio which handled the burgeoning Halo franchise. Now we have stumbled upon another division that resides within Microsoft Game Studios that has been crafted to handle the visual department on the Xbox 360.

We believe this division has been set aside to look after the visual development of all Xbox 360 titles to ensure that each game pushes the boundaries of the console. Mike Cimprich and Steve Heijster both work in this department and both their tasks involve looking after the graphics department. The former individual’s profile provides proof that this division exists within Microsoft Game studios and that a “new and unannounced” title is also in works for the console.

The company is taking its gaming division rather seriously and is continuously restructuring and creating new divisions within it to ensure quality titles land up on its console. This nugget of information looks to be a boon for its users, since most games on the Xbox 360 still lack a certain sense of visual flair in comparison to games available on its rival platform. The last “good looking” first party game was released almost one and a half years ago and crafted a distorted sense of destroyed beauty that was less superior in every possible way to its original outing in 2006.

With the creation of this new division, we hope to see a better sense in graphical engineering on the platform and look forward to this new title that has been in the pipeline.
