GTA IV has done really well with fans as well as critics and in late February Rockstar released the first of two episodic expansion packs for the game as an Xbox Live exclusive download titled Grand Theft Auto IV: The Lost and Damned.
Now Rockstar Games has announced that the second episode Grand Theft Auto: The Ballad of Gay Tony will be released for download exclusively on Xbox Live and Grand Theft Auto: Episodes from Liberty City will be released on disc only for the Xbox 360 this fall. The Grand Theft Auto: Episodes from Liberty City disc will include both, the first and second episodic expansions to the game.
“Liberty City is the most vibrant game world we’ve created yet. The episodic structure has allowed us to interweave stories, gameplay and atmosphere in a whole new way,” Sam Houser, Founder of Rockstar Games, remarked. “The team at Rockstar North have yet again surpassed themselves, and made something that is both epic and very innovative. This episode’s focus on high-end night life contrasts with the biker gangs portrayed in The Lost and Damned, whilst giving us a lot of new gameplay possibilities.”
The Ballad of Gay Tony is quite the opposite of what its name suggests, flooding Liberty City with “guns, glitz and grime”. Gamers play as Luis Lopez, assistant to the famous nightclub impresario Tony Prince, also known as Gay Tony. Juggling loyalties towards family and friends, players must face the harsh world in which no one is who they say they are.
The Ballad of Gay Tony will be available exclusively on Xbox Live this fall and will cost 19.99 USD (approx. Rs. 950) or 1600 Microsoft Points. The expansion will require that players already have the GTA IV game. Grand Theft Auto: Episodes from Liberty City will be available on disc in the fall for 39.99 USD (approx. Rs. 1900) and will not require Xbox 360 owners to have a copy of the game.
