The new Radeon HD 4870 X2 graphics card has been released by XFX and promises to merge power and speed into a composite force allowing you to experience gaming in a whole new light.
The Radeon HD 4870 X2 graphics card combines 1600 stream processors, 2.4 teraFLOPS of graphic processing power and 2GB of GDDR5 memory all in one unit making it remarkably fast and powerful. The card’s graphics core clocks at 750MHz, 2GB GDDR5 memory clocks at 3.6 GHz and the card also offers 230GB/sec memory bandwidth over 512-bit memory interface.
The Radeon HD 4870 X2 is capable of running games based on Microsoft DirectX 10.1 and is backwards compatible with DirectX 10. Also, the card features better anti-aliasing and anisotropic filtering for unmatched graphics and realism. And not only can the card deliver stunning graphics, it also saves up to twice the power than previous generation chips giving double the performance per watt than the latter.
The XFX Radeon HD 4870 X2 offers 2560×1600 resolution support. Videos can now be converted to H.264 and mpeg-2 about 19 times faster and full 1080p files can also be converted to H.264 and mpeg-2 formats upto 1.8 times faster than real time.
The price of this item is not very high but apparently it could cost as much as EUR 477.6 (approx. Rs. 30,145). Previously, AMD had released its own Radeon HD 4870 X2 graphics card.
