Blizzard Entertainment recently took to social media to taunt fans about an Overwatch: King’s Row Uprising event that will happen on April 11. The teaser was initially posted on Facebook and then taken down. The company’s Twitter account for Australia and New Zealand reportedly pinned the reveal for April 12.
Social media hiccups aside, it’s now official – Blizzard’s going to unveil something exciting for Overwatch on April 11. A short video accompanies the tweet. It talks about the King’s Row Uprising and hints that the relevant archives will be declassified and unlocked by the end of the week.
So what do we think we know from the teaser thus far? File 00382 is seven years old (probably why Blizzard waited for just a bit before April 4 dawned to tweet about it) and is related to mandatory robot registration. Did the last mentioned provoke the uprising of the Omnic race of robots in the King’s Row sanctuary?
If it did, the mysterious event could be set before the start of Overwatch. A 3D model of Tracer, the first Hero Character in the game, appears to be featured on the bottom right hand side screen. The upper right flashes an image of a structure with ‘Turing Green SW0’ and ‘Building An Om(nic?) Future’ emblazoned across it.

Blizzard could be rolling out anything from an animated short to a PvE event to a comic to character skins to an alternate-reality game on April 11. Who knows? Most fans don’t seem to think the developer and publisher will be introducing a fresh character as yet. The tank Orisa is relatively new after all.
