Sega packs four retro titles into the Dreamcast Collection

Modern gaming rooms are neither the place, nor contemporary period is the time for playing games on an almost extinct 128-bit console that is Sega’s Dreamcast. But this shouldn’t stop gamers from enjoying the titles originally built for the console and retro-reminisce upon the long gone age of awesome games. Accordingly, Sega has revealed that it will be releasing a packaged compilation of classic titles for Xbox 360 and PC next month in Europe and North America.

The Dreamcast Collection hems in four popular titles, Crazy Taxi, Sega Bass Fishing, Sonic Adventure and Space Channel 5: Part 2 that are already available individually from XBLA. The compilation is said to deliver an immersive experience with enhanced graphics for both platform iterations. Achievements and online leader boards will also be available for all games. The titles present in the collection are digitally revamped for superior viewing experience in stunning high-definition graphics.

“The Dreamcast console is still remembered as a pioneering console for online gaming,” said Gary Knight, VP of Marketing at SEGA of America and SEGA Europe. “We are delighted to be able to offer to our large community of dedicated fans a collection such as Dreamcast Collection for them to enjoy old favourites on this generation of consoles.”

Whether players decide to hop into a taxi and take on the steering wheel through vast urban streets in Crazy Taxi or grab a pole and hook to catch fishes in Sega Bass Fishing, the Dreamcast Collection assures a complete retro experience. Moreover, gamers can role-play the intergalactic news reporter Ulala in Space Channel 5: Part 2 and dance their way through the evil Rhythm Rogues, or head out on a thrilling adventure with super-sonic speed in Sonic Adventure.

The Dreamcast Collection is scheduled to retail across Europe starting February 25, 2011 and throughout North America on February 22, 2011 for Xbox 360, PC and PC digital download.
