Sega is known for its classic video games which include its now iconic characters such as Sonic. Now according to a post on the Sega Blogs, Sega Republic, a theme park having over 150 attractions has officially opened in the Dubai Mall. The theme park is home to nine exciting rides including the Halfpipe Canyon, Initial D4 Limited, Sonic Hopper, Spin Gear, and Storm-G.
The entire theme park is divided into five zones of themed fun. The zones include Adventure, Cyberpop, Redemption, Speed and Sports, and feature classic carnival games, motion-simulators and even simulated sports games. The Sega Republic stands as a milestone in indoor theme parks.
The individual zones in the theme park have their own characteristic rides. For example, the Speed zone has its 9 metre drop ride, known as the Sonic Hopper, and the Adventure zone has the much awaited Spin Gear, in which people are apparently sent down a track strapped down facing each other and spinning around at the same time.
