CryEngine 3 to be Revealed at GDC 2009 by Crytek

Crytek has announced that they have come up with an all-in-one game development solution in the form of the CryEngine 3, which they plan on unveiling at this year’s Game Developers Conference scheduled to be held from March 25 to March 27, 2009. CryEngine 3 is the first platform for development for the PS3, Xbox 360, DX9 or DX10, MMO and is actually next-gen-ready. The CryEngine 3 includes the CryEngine 3 Sandbox level editor and other new features especially for console, MMO, online and next-gen game development.

CryEngine 3 will set the benchmark for complete game engine solutions in performance, and services to game engine licensees and their players. We’ve been preparing a long time for CryEngine on consoles and we’re confident that Crytek will again amaze developers at GDC,” commented Carl Jones, Director of Business Development, CryEngine.

The CryEngine technology was used in highly commended Crytek games Crysis and Crysis Warhead and the technology has been licensed to several major game companies around the world. The CryEngine technology has been used on numerous games training and simulation projects. Also, there has been word that Crytek’s Engine Business Team will be giving information and making a few presentations at the GDC.
