What to Expect with the Next Guerrilla Games Engine
Killzone 2 has some rather neat special effects due to the enormous effort put in by Guerrilla Games in decoding PlayStation 3′s processing power and enhancing its graphical quality. The game is regarded, by many, as the best looking war game to have invaded a console, some even label it as Crysis for consoles.
What has come to our notice are a few upgrades that are being spoken about regarding the next engine update that is powering their next game which is NOT a sequel to Killzone 2:
- Improving Texture Quality for Environmental Effects (High frequency Detail Mapping).
Raising Anti-Aliasing features for a faster processing module.
5X increase polygon count on character modules/environment.
Real time reflection effects, improving ambient occlusion capacity for dynamic shadows.
Light indexed deferred shading for foliage and decals.
This is, perhaps, only the tip of the iceberg and is a rough idea for what Guerrilla plans to do with their existing engine. More on this as time flows by.
am i the only one who thinks that the overall perfomance capcom’s MT framework engine technology is waay better than killzone 2 engine ?!
and i bet that kojima production’s new engine for MGS:R will be the best game engine everrrr!!

i’m still impressed by the technology used in killzone 2. its the best loooking game on a console and it runs so smooth without a itch. i cant wait to see improvements made in killzone 3 which i know will again be the best looking game on a console. i will now predict that killzone 3 will look better than crysis.

Gurilla Game did a awesome job creating Killzone 2 i expect then to do it again ten times better. PS3 is beyond the future we got the best technology. Sony designed a beast of a gaming system. I think Naughty Dog and Imsomniac Games either one could had made Killzone 2 in like 2 years. I still have high hopes for our beloved delover Guerilla Games can’t wait to see Killzone 3.
