Battlefield Heroes, Tiberium Delayed by Electronic Arts

Yesterday, we had reported that Ubisoft had delayed the combat flight simulator Tom Clancy’s H.A.W.X. to 2009. Ubisoft are not the only publishers who are in the mood of delaying games. Now it has emerged that Electronic Arts has delayed two games, Battlefield Heroes and Tiberium.

John Riccitiello is the chief executive officer of Electronic Arts. At an earnings call, Riccitiello explained to the investors, “We decided to increase its focus on some of the social networking features. The last thing we want to do is jab it in the marketplace.” He is of the view that Battlefield Heroes is progressing much like they anticipated.

Battlefield Heroes is a cartoon-style shooter that was announced earlier this year in January and is ad-supported. The game will now release at the end of the year. As for Tiberium, the Command & Conquer first person shooter will be out after April 2009. The game was announced late last year and was expected to be out in 2008.
