In-house Ubisoft Games Will Have Subtitles

When you watch movies, there is one interactive option, that option is the option of subtitles. Previously in video games, there have been games, which had subtitles. Recently, we reported that the western edition of Yakuza 2 will have subtitles. Now Ubisoft has said that their in-house titles will have subtitles.

Ubisoft has taken this decision to make their video games more accessible to deaf and the hard of hearing. A statement from the company read, “This commitment entails modifications to some of our game engines, as well as the inclusion of subtitles in the conception phase of game development.”

The first Ubisoft games to have subtitles are Far Cry 2, Prince of Persia and Shaun White Snowboarding. They plan to have subtitles in all their titles that are developed internally. The gaming company has also made a game with charity Handicap International for the AbilityTogether campaign that will raise awareness for the realities of disability.
