Overwatch makers tease Doomfist, then pretend it never happened

The long-fabled arrival of Overwatch ‘hero’ Doomfist is nigh it seems, as a breaking story from the Times of Nubani indicates. Blizzard is happy to leave fans confused at this stage, but here’s what happened – an attack by Talon was reported by the fictional news source. It was apparently orchestrated with the express purpose of freeing Akande Ogundimu, or Doomfist.

This event preceded the Numbani International airport attack that witnessed the theft of the Doomfist gauntlet (and the debut of Orisa, by the way). A detailed report about the latest incident at a maximum security prison which left over a dozen Helix security agents dead, points to the Reaper’s involvement in it.

Back in February 2017, Overwatch tweeted the above image of a video feed by Atlas News that gave us a glimpse of OR15 defense units destroyed by a mysterious assailant. No civilians causalities were reported.

The rescue of Ogundimu followed by the Numbani airport attack has left gamers to guess that these two incidents are closely intertwined. It could only mean that Blizzard is indeed ready to introduce super villain Doomfist to Overwatch. Don’t bother trying to check out the original post on the game’s US website though.

For some reason, it’s been deleted from there, and Blizzard is being very cheeky about the whole thing. Check out the Overwatch Twitter account to see exactly what we mean by that. Well, at least the arrival of Doomfist is a certainty for now; no need to hunt for further clues.
