Skullgirls Encore for PS4 and PS Vita gets delayed into 2015

When it was announced for new platforms back in July, Skullgirls Encore didn’t have a proper release date, but it was indeed revealed that it will be out sometime later this year. That has changed now, as its makers have revealed that the PS4 and PS Vita versions of the game will be arriving on the two platforms in early 2015. New additions which the developers want to make to these ports have been cited as the reasons for this delay in its arrival.

Through a post on the official PlayStation blog, the makers disclosed that they have expanded the scope of the title, and are aiming to add fresh new features to it. These are being introduced with an aim of ‘making it a better upgrade for fans’ and providing a ‘better value for everyone.’ Along with this news, also comes the release of a new character for Skullgirls Encore in the form of Eliza. Describing her as their most ‘ambitious character to date,’ the developers have revealed Eliza to be ‘a diva with a dark secret.’

With her powers of manipulating her own blood during fights, she is capable of constantly shape-shifting into various Egyptian mythological symbols and cultural icons. Like the other Skullgirls Encore characters who have been released for the game prior to this, Eliza too will be free to download for a period of 3 months, following which, gamers will need to pay to get the character.
