“WWE SmackDown vs. Raw 2007” Online Gaming Tournament Announced by THQ

THQ has announced a new online tournament that will take place on Xbox Live. Gamers will have to battle it out online on the “WWE SmackDown vs. Raw 2007” video game. The tournament has already begun and will go on until February 28, 2007.

Gamers will fight it on the open ladder play, earning points for each victorious match. Then on March 3, the 64 players with the most points will go on to compete in an online single elimination tournament. In the end, there will be two finalists who will get a chance to go to the fifth Annual THQ Superstar Challenge in Detroit where WrestleMania will be held. These finalists will play the championship match in front of a live audience at the Gem Theatre on March 29.

The winner of the championship match will get two floor tickets to WrestleMania 23, a WWE Championship Belt along with other prizes while the loser will also receive two tickets to WrestleMania 23 and a prize pack. The 16 runners-up in the online competition will be given WrestleMania-themed prizes.
