Need for Speed World to Include Dolby Axon Voice Chat Technology

Need for Speed World is noted to be the first MMORG title in the acclaimed Need for Speed series. This active installment zoomed onto the PC terrain back in July this year. Now Black Box teams up with Dolby Laboratories to reveal that Need for Speed World will feature Dolby Axon voice chat technology.

Need for Speed World

“In Need for Speed World, we’re able to continually update the game with new technology to provide the best MMO racing for our players,” stated Stephane Grefford, Producer, Need for Speed World. “Working with Dolby, we can give gamers a seamless channel of communication for them to collaborate together to become the top racer. We’re excited to be the first title in North America to incorporate Dolby Axon to help enhance our player’s overall racing experience.”

“Dolby Axon helps ensure that communication among team members happens clearly and quickly when racing at over 100 miles an hour in Need for Speed World. We’re really excited to be working closely with EA in bringing a new level of voice chat to their game,” commented Matt Tullis, Marketing Director, Games, Dolby Laboratories.

Thanks to the integration of Dolby Axon, game developers are able to offer a more enhanced online gameplay experience. Clear voice communication is obtained with the better audio chain processing which provides noise and echo suppression. Gamers can even experience surround sound voice chat conducted over stereo speakers, headsets and 5.1 playback systems to effectively chat with teammates. Clear voice quality is also said to be acquired without the need to employ specialized equipment. The new inclusion claims to be compatible with any stereo headset.

This latest revelation is scheduled to hit the online action racing game before the holidays.
