Monster Jam Truck Games to be Published by Activision
Activision has announced that it has gotten into a multi-year agreement with Live Nation that will enable them to publish video games based on the latter’s Monster Jam series of monster truck racing events.
David Oxford, GM, Activision Publishing said, “Activision is thrilled to be partnering with Live Nation to bring Monster Jam to video game fans. Monster Jam is an exhilarating live event and we are sure that we can make it come to life in a video game with just as much thrill and excitement.”
Charlie Mancuso, President, Live Nation – Motor Sports says, “We feel we have found a partner in Activision that shares our vision for both an authentic Monster Jam game that will appeal to the core Monster Jam fans, and a game that will also appeal to gamers by going above and way beyond anything we could do at the live events; it will have it all. Activision’s strong relationships with retailers in addition to their strategic marketing and promotional direction for the game were important in our decision to collaborate with them. We are looking forward to the launch of the game this holiday, and Monster Jam fans and video-gamers alike should rest assured that an outstanding video game is in the works.”
The first Monster Jam Truck game is expected to hit stores by the end of 2007. It will have 20 of the world’s top monster trucks on the Monster Jam circuit, including Grave Digger, Maximum Destruction, Monster Mutt, and El Toro Loco. Though Activision has rights to publish the game on all the platforms, they haven’t revealed any details regarding which platforms the game will release on.
Please have the new monster jam video game that comes out later in 2007 be in Playstation2, please, I don’t have an X-Box and I don’t plan on getting one anytime soon! Thanks alot!

I hope its for the wii. Definitly simulator like and no weopons, career mode and all. Tilting controls for big air and manuevering. I would like to see a lot of the lower trucks too (like dragon slayer). It will be hard to make a game drive as awsome as Tom Meents but I hope you get close. I want to buy the game already!!! I love all the monster truck games but you should let the people make there own truck, go on a career around the globe till las vegas, and have the actuall tracks and not fantasy tracks that you shoot peeople with. also have maximum damage. and go to fair grounds and have legendary trucks. how do you think of a tittle called monster jam world finals (the game)
Career mode would be awesome. Also, making it for the PS3 would be nice. Real tracks, some fantasy tracks could be included too. Physics need to be good. The “Maximum Destruction” game was terrible. Freestyle is one of the biggest parts of Monster Jam. Big air, bicycling the truck (nobody better than Meents though, but let us try), donuts-cyclones, slap wheelies, power wheelies, and of course finishing with a flip…..just everything that makes a good freestyle, the physics system needs to be capable of. Also, even an extra touch like using the rear-steer separately would be cool instead of just 2-wheel steer or always 4-wheel steer.
I agree with Albert 100%, career mode and everything else he said would be awesome! Could you imagine the sales of racing steering wheels for consoles? I know I’d buy one. It’d be cool to work the rear-steer with a button on the steering wheel, kinda like how they have the rear-steer switch in real life. I’d like to get a real feel for what it’s like to own and operate a Monster truck. I think Monster Jam has grown a lot over the years, now I think it’s time for Monster Jam gaming to grow up and leave all the kiddie stuff behind(i.e. the “Maximum Destruction” game.)
I dont really play video games that much anymore but I think its pretty cool that they are finally coming out with a new monster jam game, as long as it doesnt suck. The problem with every monster truck game in the past is that they are all a joke and were made by people who have no clue about monster trucks. This game will be successful if it is actually a monster truck racing game with freestyle and good physics. Hopefully they dont have guns and stupid power ups on rediculous fake tracks. What it needs is authentic gameplay with real tracks just like all the nascar games, and other racing games.
I swear to god if they dont have the racing and the freestyle in this game like they do in real life i am going to be calling people. i have been waiting for a very long time to have a game like this come out. I have played only one other game that has racing on it and it was 12 years ago on the computer. My cousins friend downloaded it and i played it for a while. I just want freestyle to be in this game. I’ve seen a preview of the game now. It is a very nice line-up of trucks but the trucks drive too fast, in an un-realistic way. One clip they show is a “sprint race”. It is of the Las Vegas track. The problem is they run it in 9.34 seconds. The real trucks run that track in 16-17 seconds. It looks like the rear-steer is seperate because it doesn’t come on during “Thunder Alley” but does a little at the J-hook for half the turn the quickly straightens back to just 2 wheel steer, as if it was controled by another button. There is off-road racing as well like on the “Maximum Destruction” game. They didn’t show anything related to freestyle yet, but I would assume there is going to be something. When the truck landed after thr sprint race, it landed sideways but instead of the wheels grabbing and going on 2 wheels or flipping, it just slid and settled the truck as if it landed on a smooth floor, not dirt. The off-road racing is very fast. The trucks are too responsive though, it’s like the “Maximum Destruction” game but the trucks are A LOT faster. It’s almost like driving an off-road racing game but the response of the steering is like driving on pavement, not dirt. Again, this is an early view, there are still 2 months until it is released. The best thing I’ve seen so far is the truck line-up. They are:
Grave Digger, Grave Digger 25th Anniversary, Monster Mutt Dalmatian, Brutus, Iron Outlaw, Pastrana 199, Avenger, Captain’s Curse, Scarlet Bandit, Maximum Destruction, Predator, Suzuki, El Toro Loco, Black Smith, Destroyer, King Krunch, Blue Thunder, Bull Dozer, Bounty Hunter & Monster Mutt.
Those are the 20 trucks in the game
I do believe that Freestyle is in the game. On the monsterjamonline site if you click on the countdown it will go and show you the line up and the sprint race. I do believe that its going to be a good game but hey Actvivison is going to be coming out with alot more than just this one game. They are signed with a muti-year contract with live nation. I hope it gets better and better. And you are right about it being way to fast. I think they are going to improve on the game over time. They will get feed back from US, The fans will have to tell them what to change on the Game. But all in all it looks like a kick ass game. I hope they fix it up a little bit though.
I do know about the multi-year deal and hopefully more games to come and that they do listen to us, the consumers. I’m not sure of Activision’s experience in making motorsports games, I think they do more with human or human-like character type games so this may be a little different for them. The good thing is I haven’t seen any weapons in the videos I’ve seen so far. I’m still hoping for some kind of career mode. If not this game, then for sure in the next game. There are multiple people on here that have commented on wanting a career mode.
Make it so if loos a wheel have it stay off allso let the body fly off make it so you can travel in a big truck.

For a career mode I’d like to have, I’d like to start with a very cheap truck. Be able to buy different body styles, each with a different price and be able to name the truck and design the truck and everything like that. Then as you get more money, you can buy better shocks and suspension, engines and other things to make the truck more competitive. And have set-ups too, not just standard setting, but control the rebound and things like that. Then for an online mode, have it to use your career mode truck. It would encourage some people to play career mode more to get a more competitive truck and that’s how the real drivers are anyway. Not everybody goes out with Grave Digger and Maximum Destruction trucks, they all bring their own trucks with their own set-ups. I’m not sure how racing brackets would work but I have an idea for online freestyle. Have regular shows of just 8 trucks. Once 8 trucks sign-up for the show then one at a time a player will do their freestyle run while the other players watch that run (that’s why only 8 trucks, so you don’t wait 30 minutes to do a 90 second run). The order will be determined by their online ranking based on previous performances, lowest ranking first and finishing with the best ranked player. After all trucks have run and all scores are in, a winner is crowned and prize money is awarded which goes into your career mode account to make your truck better. But if you destroy your truck, obviously you’ll have to pay for it so you can’t take a new truck and go flip it right away. Then you can have World Finals runs too. It’s for the best players. Have it for 24 trucks, the prize money be a lot higher but because of the truck number, you’ll be waiting for a long time before and after you run. You can’t leave early if you go early because if you disconnect, you won’t be there for the finishing order so won’t get your prize money. So if you’re a serious contender and want to go big in front of the best players, then you can go for the World Finals competition and see what happens. But the physics system needs to be very realistic for that to work, where a brand new career mode truck drives like a big stock street truck and the best equipment after many hours of playing can handle like a Maximum Destruction truck. That’s my suggestion for the second game, it’s too late to change anything for this game coming out in less than 2 months.

Finally, a new Monster Jam game. Hopefully this one will have everything included in real life Monster Jam. Not the cheezy grahics and guns on top of the truck, and stupid power ups! It should have realalistic featurs like the trucks turning, and shocks. AND PLEASE, MAKE THIS ONE ACUALLY FUN AND CHALLANGING!!!!!!!!

The game is coming out on November 13th, 2007 for the Xbox 360, Nintendo Wii, Playstation 2, PC, and the Nintendo DS game consoles. It will be showing all 20 trucks that will be included in the game. You will also see some fast paced sprint racing that should be familiar to any Monster Jam fan, and heart pounding outdoor racing with fully destructible environments.
I hope this game has freestyle with cars,vans,busses, and trailors that actually get smashed and crushed!

People They do have freestyle in the game. They just havent put it up yet or they are just waiting until it is ready. Just go to the monster Jam website and click on the monster jam video game site and they will have it there for you. It will say it at the bottom before you fill that stuff out.

They probably don’t have Batman and Superman trucks because then they need to pay extra for licensing those brands etc.
In my opinion, this is the best Monster truck game ever made. It isn’t completely perfect, physics could still be a little more realistic, mainly with the way the trucks can turn sideways so easily in the air and flip so easily, but for the most part, it’s pretty good. Career mode still would be nice for a future game.
i have been wal mart and target and i have found nothing.

can you create a truck in the game
I love monster jam make it for gamecube and put the world finals in the game and freestyle and racing but put the tracks made like they where in the race and freestyle.
This is the best Monster truck game made yet. It’s a little fast paced in freestyle, but I like how you can do wheelies and cyclones. I still think it should be more realistic with the physics, and I’d like to control the throttle myself for a more realistic feel of the power of these trucks. I don’t wanna hit the throttle and go from 0-60 in one second. I wanna be able to control my own speed. They should make another one and call it Monster Jam: Professional Edition, or something, and make it as close to the real thing as possible. But all-in-all I think Activision is onto something here.
Career mode would also be nice.

I got my game at Gamestop. The game is pretty good but, i think that its not like real world Monster Jam. The trucks go to fast and really nothing realalistic. Just like Max D is a front engin truck, they put it in the back again! But overall, its way better then the last two!!!

how do you do a wheelie?
TO DO A WHEELIE, just jump over a stack of cars. If you land on all fours the front wheels should bounce up a little, then hit the turbo button and your truck should go up on two wheels. Basically, if you notice your front wheels come off the ground after a jump, hit the turbo button, you don’t necessarily have to jump over a stack of cars you could do it from jumping a ramp or something.

How do you do a donut for monster jam on a computer. Without a steering wheel. We have seen the game on you tube and the rear tires do turn. So how do you use rear steer. Also our game seems really slow compared to the you tube game video. Please help!

just so you know that story i wrote up there might be the longest one so far
monster trucks are amazing.they weigh 10,000 lbs. and stand at an amazing 10-12 feet tall.really bear with me here,where in the hell can you get the entertainment anywhere else.an example is jumping over crush cars(they always do that though).
well i’m gonna start out with the video game;this game is wicked real good graphics(exeft for ds i jave one and the grafics are not to good).ohwell ds can still get better graphics.enough with the graphic talk lets head straihgt to the game play.
this is a great game with plenty of exiting trucks including…grave digger,max-d.bounty hunter,blue thunder,and reigning world freestyle champion of the world …captains curse.jumping over sets of cars,busses,and vans cant get any more exciting than monster jam.the three main events that are my favorite are:sprint racin,outdoor environment racing,and of course everybody’s favorite,FREESTYLE.
well let me explain the trucks(actually just one (or 2)lol) we have grave digger and grave digger 25th anniversary.if you see that truck at a monster jam event or thunder nationals you know your in for a treat.the lights will turn pitch black and the music will start to play bad to the bone.then you will see a faint red light it will be the worlds most famous monster truck grave digger.you can have all of that excitment in the palm of your hand even grave digger(only without the glowing red lihgts,bad to the bone,and the glowing red lights)…but you can still have monster jam
