Hasbro Family Game Night for PS2 and Wii Announced by EA

A few weeks ago, we had reported that Electronic Arts had released the details for the first Hasbro games. Now EA has sent word about a new game called as Hasbro Family Game Night for the Nintendo Wii and the PS2. It comprises of games such as Battleship, Yahtzee, Boggle, Connect Four, Sorry! and Sorry! Sliders.

Mark Blecher, General Manager of Digital Media and Gaming at Hasbro. He said, “Hasbro Family Game Night is designed to bring family and friends of all ages together in the digital living room for an evening of ‘anything goes’ fun. Hasbro has been offering families with the best in game play for decades, and now they can enjoy some of our most beloved brands with an all-new digital twist.”

Chip Lange, VP & GM of EA’s Casual Entertainment Label says, “We are giving families a new way to bond and play together. Hasbro Family Game Night presents parents and their children a digital party experience full of classic brands they know and love. Between original and new rule settings, an easy-to-play party mode and a customizable game room feature, the variety and choice promise hours of fun family play.”

As mentioned before, Hasbro Family Game Night features six games, out of which Yahtzee, Boggle, Sorry! And Sorry! Sliders allow four people to play together. As for Connect Four And Battleship, two players will be able to play together. The game features a distinctive digital game room that lets gamers add their trophies, cool furniture and decorations that are themed to their favorite games.

Then there is the party mode in Hasbro Family Game Night that lets gamers make a custom party game by selecting games as well as number of players and setting a time limit. The mini-game challenges that are included in the party mode are Shake for Words, Bomb Run and Match the Pattern.

EA has stated that Hasbro Family Game Night is expected to be out for the Nintendo Wii and the PS2 in the autumn of 2008. It would be fun to play games like Boggle and Battleship again.
