Atari geared to resurrect Haunted House on Wii, Xbox 360 and PCs

Reckoning a ghost from the past? Well, that is exactly what Atari has been planning. This Halloween, the company is set to surprise a new generation of gamers with a 30-year old game. The mansion of Zachary Graves is being spooked with more chills, innovative unlockables and creepier enemies as Haunted House readies to return to video game screens. The title will be released for the Wii, the Xbox 360 and PC.

Haunted House

Haunted House revisits the past by transporting gamers into the frightening manor. Players will don the role of the original character’s grandchildren who is said to have disappeared in the mansion over 30 years ago. The title will ride gamers through a horrifying adventure.

Jim Wilson, President of Atari, enunciated, “The glowing eyes and mysterious urn of Haunted House still resonates with gamers who made the original franchise a blockbuster hit. Atari looks forward to introducing a new generation of gamers to the fun and suspense of Graves Mansion and bringing families together with the magic that is Haunted House.”

Enclosed in a 3D environment, towers, basements and burial chambers in this title will come alive to augment the dangerous experience. Gamers can enter the game with the title’s pick up-and-play arcade-style adventure to battle for their grandfather’s bequest. On their way steering through the mansion, they will have to solve puzzles and clash with bosses while trying to discover hidden treasures in the cursed tale.

Haunted House will require gamers to escape hounding ghosts, terrifying skeletons and battle eerie creatures while reassembling the magical urn. Players can access help from mystical tomes, several keys and powerful light sources. To finish this mission, they will have to explore the dark and chilling obscurity of Graves Mansion to find all the four pieces of the magical pitcher.

Haunted House will be available this fall for the Xbox Live Arcade, Wii and Windows PC. The company has kept the price of the game under wraps though.
