Igor Video Game to be Co-Published by SouthPeak

Last year, we had posted that a video game based on Igor was coming soon. Now video game publishers SouthPeak Interactive have sent word that they will be co-publishing the Igor The Game for the Wii, Nintendo DS and PC. It is based on the animated movie that will release later this year.

Igor

Ariella Lehrer, President, Legacy Interactive commented, “With Igor, we set forth to capture the exceptional mix of dark, yet playful aspects seen in the movie. It is a great game that can be enjoyed with both friends and family and will appeal to a younger audience as well.”

Melanie Mroz, Chief Executive Officer, SouthPeak Games says, “Legacy and I2G are doing a tremendous job bringing Igor into the virtual gaming world. This is a great property and promises to be a huge hit when it comes out this fall. We love the fact that the game is able to capture the elements of the film so well and turn it into a fun, interactive environment.”

The PC and the Nintendo Wii versions of Igor The Game will see gamers select one of the main characters Igor, Eva, Scamper or Brain and play either simultaneously or cooperatively with up to four people. Gamers will have to battle it out with enemies and achieve goals that advance them. As for the Nintendo DS version, gamers will be able to perform movement combinations, combat enemies and solve puzzles with the stylus. Gamers can also make their own monsters to solve puzzle challenges and fight against other mad scientists.

Igor The Game is expected to be out in the month of September. That’s the same time the movie releases. Igor The Game has been developed by Legacy Interactive.
