GTA Online content creator set to be released today, single-player DLC coming in 2014

Dubbed the Deathmatch and Race creators beta, the GTA Online content creation tool which was leaked by a gaming sleuth some time ago, has been disclosed by Rockstar Games officially. It will be out for both the PS3 and the Xbox 360 versions of the game later today by means of a free update. Moreover, the developers have also revealed details regarding further updates to the online component of GTA V as well as its single-player portion.

The Deathmatch and Race creators beta will let you craft and customize Jobs for Deathmatch, Team Deathmatch, Race, GTA Race and Rally Race modes of the title. This tool will of course be integrated with the Rockstar Games Social Club, allowing the whole community to discover, download, play, rate and share the created content. The developers will also be reviewing these Jobs themselves in order to regularly post some of the best community-created content under a Rockstar Verified Jobs section.

Later this month, a competitive team mode dubbed Capture will be pushed into GTA Online. This is actually Rockstar’s take on the popular capture the flag mode, enabling you to indulge in territory infiltration and new team-versus-team battles. Capture will be divided into four variations, namely Raid, Contend, Hold and GTA, details on which will be provided next week. The much awaited GTA Online Heists, which will grant players the ability to perform grand team-based robberies like the ones portrayed in the game’s single-player campaign, will be added sometime early next year.

But apart from GTA Online, Rockstar also has plans of supporting GTA V. The developer has disclosed through a blog post that it has ‘big plans’ for new content in 2014 which will continue the story of Michael, Franklin and Trevor.
