Along with the announcement of the Year of the Snake DLC for Sleeping Dogs, news has also come out that the cop drama has become the UK’s best-selling new game IP of 2012 at retail, as observed by Chart Track. Commenting on this matter, Lee Singleton, who’s the general manager at Square Enix London Studios, asserted that with this game, the developer’s goal was to set new benchmarks in the open world genre with ‘best-in-class’ combat, driving and story-telling. Singleton believes that this objective has been reached by the studio, and hence it will keep dishing out DLC in 2013.

The features that will form part of it include fresh weapons such as teargas guns and electroshock pistols, new outfits as well as new abilities. Furthermore, available now is the Movie Masters Pack which contains three outfits, dubbed Vigilante, Unknown Warrior and Bronze Warrior. The Monkey King Pack can also be purchased now with its ability to let players assume the form of mythical Sun Wukong, enabling them to wield a two-handed staff.
