The Expendables 2 Videogame has been announced, and it will be published by none other than Ubisoft. This game should not be mistaken to be any sequel to an earlier title, as it is actually a tie-in to the second installment in Lionsgate and Millennium Films’ Expendables movie franchise.
It is scheduled to arrive for the PS3, Xbox 360 and PC in downloadable form. Described to be an ultimate elite mercenary shooter, the game is a tactical shooter which allows four people to play cooperatively. It stars four of the film’s characters – Barney Ross, Gunner Jensen, Hale Caesar and Yin Yang, portrayed by Sylvester Stallone, Dolph Lundgren, Terry Crews and Jet Li, respectively.
Online as well as local co-op will be available for players to jump into, while the title’s story will act as a prequel to the upcoming flick. This way, the movie will begin where the game will end, suggesting that although the title is yet without a release date, it will launch prior to the film’s release which is marked at August 17, 2012.
The first flick in the series which came in 2010 didn’t have a video game to tag along with it. The Expendables franchise is known to feature flicks that comprise an ensemble cast of action stars, with the latest one kicking in the likes of Sylvester Stallone, Jason Statham, Jet Li, Jean-Claude Van Damme, Bruce Willis, Arnold Schwarzenegger and even Chuck Norris.
The Expendables 2 Videogame is still to be blessed with a release date, but it has been confirmed to be coming this summer for the PS3, Xbox 360 and PC as a downloadable game.
