Assassin’s Creed 3 Multiplayer’s Wolfpack Co-op Mode Explained

The possibility of Assassin’s Creed 3 coming out with a co-op mode had come to light with a leak earlier this year, and at Ubisoft’s San Diego Comic-Con showcase, the developer officially confirmed the addition by providing visitors with a glimpse of what’s to come. The Wolfpack mode as well as a new Domination multiplayer mode were both playable at the event.

Joystiq was present at the SDCC, and the website has revealed details regarding these new attributes. In Wolfpack, a maximum of four players will be allowed to work together at once. These gamers will need to team up in order to assassinate twenty five waves of AI targets. Time will be limited for each of the rounds, and will get shorter with progression.

Next up is the competitive Domination mode which provides support for eight players on multiplayer. These gamers will get divided into two teams, with both of them rushing to capture three separate zones in a snowy frontier setting. They would need to blend in with the roaming NPCs so as to stand in zones long enough to capture them. Once captured, the zones must be defended by spotting and stunning or killing invaders.

Other than these, the Manhunt, Wanted and Artifact Assault modes have been confirmed by Ubisoft to enter the upcoming game, with improvements based on fan feedback. Moreover, new social features like clan tags and a ladder system, would also be seen in the title.

Assassin’s Creed 3 releases with its single-player as well as multiplayer offerings on October 30, 2012. A PS Vita game titled AC 3: Liberation will also be launched on the same date.
