The upcoming open world cop drama from Square Enix, Sleeping Dogs, is all set to launch in the UK for the PS3, Xbox 360 and PC on August 17, 2012. Developed by United Front Games in partnership with Square Enix London Studios, this game was originally supposed to be the third installment and a reboot of THQ’s True Crime series, but was later announced under the new name.
It was recently made known by the title’s publisher that renowned MMA champion, Georges St-Pierre (better known as GSP) is contributing to a number of game elements including combat. Hence, the limited edition of this offering will tender players with several in-game benefits revolving around the fighter. GSP’s signature ‘flying punch’ will be available for gamers to increase their grappling and throwing damage. Along with this, an exclusive GSP outfit that comprises T-shirts, a headband and shorts will also form part of the limited edition.
And this version even comes equipped with Police Protection content that kicks in added traits. These include exclusive features like a ‘High Speed’ Mission, an HK Police SWAT outfit, an assault rifle and a SWAT Police vehicle. Those who pre-order the game prior to its release will automatically upgrade their copies to the limited edition. While all this content is applicable only to the retail versions, the added bonuses for the digital PC edition are yet to be revealed.
Sleeping Dogs will be released in the UK for the PS3, Xbox 360 and PC on August 17. It can be pre-ordered now at a price of 36.99 GBP (approx. Rs. 3,025).
