Dante’s Inferno finally descends into hell and stores across Europe
A lot of hype has been created around the highly-awaited game dubbed as Dante’s Inferno and rightly so, with the initial demo exceeding gamers expectations. Visceral Games has etched Dante’s Inferno into the minds of gamers as it unveiled various offerings via digital media, bloggers and social networking sites. There has even been a Special Edition Book, Comic book, Animated DVD feature announced as well as a popular ‘Go to Hell’ Facebook App.

Now Visceral Games brings the long wait to an end as it unleashes all of hell’s fury upon anxious players. The company releases into stores in Europe the acclaimed title, Dante’s Inferno. The game is compatible with PS3 and Xbox 360 gaming consoles. In order to further heighten the hellish experience, Visceral is planning to unveil a series of downloadable content packs and expansions starting this month itself. March will see the likes of Dark Forest which is a prequel level that pertains to Dante’s journey home and also includes new foes, relics and puzzles.

In April, fans of Dante’s Inferno can download Trials of St. Lucia. This offering is a complete expansion to the title which also includes a new playable character, an in-game combat editor and co-operative multiplayer mode. The combat editor is a simple-to-use feature that enables gamers to fashion combat trails and then share their creations online. Besides the outing of Trails of Saint Lucia and Dark Forest, there will also be special downloadable packs for the Dante’s Inferno. These packs comprise of souls, relics, magics and skins to give a further edge to players traversing through the murky depths of hell.
Dante’s Inferno can be espied in North America on February 9, 2010. Gamers can grab their copy of the title for a price of $59.99 (approx. Rs.2,802). As an added bonus, all those players who pick up a PS3 version will receive The Divine Edition. This offering is filled with developer commentaries, the soundtrack to the game, a Wayne Barlowe digital art book and digital version of the complete Longfellow translation of Dante Alighieri’s Inferno. The game is rated Mature by ESRB and 18+ by PEGI. Sony PSP owners can get their copy on February 22, 2010.
