Zen Studios has announced that they will be unleashing more punishment upon us with their arena-style first person shooter, The Punisher: No Mercy. Based on Marvel’s coolest anti-hero, The Punisher: No Mercy is scheduled to be released in spring 2009 exclusively on the PlayStation Network.
The Punisher: No Mercy is built around the Unreal Engine 3 and was designed specifically to suit the quick pace of an online multiplayer first person shooter. Stemming from Marvel Comic’s history, the game allows players to don the roles of The Punisher’s cronies and villains.
Battle takes place in a variety of environments in which illegal activity is expected including the place from where The Punisher’s recurring foe, Jigsaw first came to life. In multiplayer mode, up to eight players can play a string of solo missions or collaborate with each other in team-based undertakings.
The Punisher: No Mercy also features an impressive single player Story mode. This mode gives players a peek at Marvel artist, Mike Deodato’s exclusive artwork. The Punisher: No Mercy is developed by Zen Studios and is a torture fantasy-action first-person shooter. The game developers are still undecided regarding a publisher.
