Mercenaries 2: World In Flames a Tough Fit for the Wii, says Pandemic

A few months ago, we had reported that Mercenaries 2: World In Flames was announced by Electronic Arts for various platforms. However, the action game was not announced for the Nintendo Wii. Now Cory Lewis from Pandemic has indicated that Mercenaries 2 would be a tough fit for Nintendo’s next generation console.

Cory Lewis spoke to VideoGamer.com and explained, “I think the Wii would be a tough fit for that product. Not to say it won’t ever happen. But just porting it over to the Wii feels wrong. I know the guys, the senior leaders at Pandemic, like Josh (Resnick) and Greg (Borrud) and Andrew (Goldman), they’re very committed to when we come out with a Wii product it’s going to be created for the Wii. It is going to really take advantage of what it offers, not just grabbing this and throwing it over there kind of thing.”

Mercenaries 2: World In Flames will be out later this year. The open-world action game will release for the PS2, PS3, Xbox 360 and the PC platforms. It has been developed by Pandemic Studios. But let’s hope they eventually do get Mercs 2 to the Wii.
