Mafia without doubt is one of the most under appreciated games in the history of gaming. It garnered amazing scores from critics worldwide with an average score of 90%. If Grand Theft Auto signified a game that kids love then Mafia was that game that adults would admire. With its amazing storytelling, voice acting and graphics for 2002, Mafia was way ahead of its time.
Even if you look at it today, you can’t accept the fact that it came out at the time of Grand Theft Auto Vice City and still manages to look so beautiful and crisp. Mafia 2 is being developed by 2K Czech’s – Illusion Softworks which was recently bought by Take Two.
Bits and pieces of info that is floating around the net has revealed information on Mafia 2 like:
1. The City will be twice as big as Lost Heaven, the city in the first game.
2. It will have a cover system like Gears Of War.
3. There will be no story connection between Mafia 2 and Mafia 1 but you can expect some Easter eggs that will remind players of Mafia 1.
4. More than 50 vehicles are present along with 10 square miles of unrestricted territory.
5. Will have many features which San Andreas had possessed like eating food will alter you body shape. Money will allow you to buy new clothes and you can also improve your fighting style by training.
6. Mafia 2 has been in production for more time than it took Bungie to complete all 3 Halo games.
7. It is multiplatform and is going to be on PC, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 and Mafia 2 is expected to launch next year Spring/Summer.
Seeing how Take Two has Bioshock, Grand Theft Auto and now Mafia. It makes all the more sense why EA wants to acquire Take Two.
