Konami has called back the voice-over artists that played part in the earlier Metal Gear Solid games. For their forthcoming PS3 game, Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots, David Hayter will resume his role as Solid Snake along with Quinton Flynn as Raiden, Paul Eiding as Roy Campbell and Christopher Randolph as Hal “Otacon” Emmerich.

Hayter also dropped a hint that Solid Snake could well cease to exist after MGS 4. In a podcast, he said, “This game will represent the ultimate in cynicism from Solid. He has been screwed over in every possible way. Therefore, I think he knows this is his last opportunity to tell the soldiers around him what he has learned. What I do, and I don’t usually tell people this, is when I’m recording for, say Metal Gear Solid 4, as we are now, I go back and play Metal Gear Solid 3 and drop myself back in this world of Snake.”

David Hayter is no ordinary voice-over artist. He is a renowned scriptwriter in Hollywood, his latest work being Paramount Films Black Monday. Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots is expected to release for the PS3 in the last quarter of 2007.

MGS4 has been pushed back to second quarter of 2008. MGS4 will 99% certain be the last game done by Hideo Kojima. If someone else steps up to the challenge of making a MGS5 is remained to be seen

MGS4 will be Hideo Kojima’s last Metal Gear game, but by no means is it his last game. He has other projects he wishes to pursue, and if anyone else tries to come back and milk the Metal Gear saga, without Kojima, its going to ultimately suck.

Metal Gear is too much of a money maker for Konami for there to be NO more, be interesting to see in what direction Metal Gear goes from here
