Resident Evil: Extinction Tops Weekend Box Office

Out of all the movies that have been made on video games, Resident Evil ones are the best! Now AP is reporting that the third movie in the RE series, Resident Evil: Extinction, which stars Milla Jovovich, has opened as the number one weekend flick with $24 million in ticket sales.

Milla Jovovich - Resident Evil: Extinction

There were rumors some time back that Extinction would be the last movie in the Resident Evil franchise. However, all that has been put to rest as Sony has hinted that there could be more Resident Evil movies in the future.

Rory Bruer is the head of distribution for Sony. He explains, “Until the next. It absolutely would not surprise me considering the success of the franchise that they find a way to come up with another. It’s a real possibility.”

Resident Evil: Extinction is set in Las Vegas as sees Milla Jovovich again take on the zombies and the Umbrella Corporation in the desert. This movie has been directed by Russell Mulcahy and is written by Paul W. S. Anderson. In fact, Extinction has done better than the previous Resident Evil: Apocalypse that was released in 2004.
