Alone in the Dark Coming to Wii, PS2

Atari has sent word that their apocalyptic action game Alone in the Dark will be released on the PS2 as well as on the Nintendo Wii. The game sees protagonist Edward Carnby uncover a stunning secret hidden in New York’s iconic Central Park.

Alone in the Dark has been written by Eden Games and scripted by New York Times best-selling writer Lorenzo Carcaterra. The Wii version of Alone in the Dark will let gamers manipulate objects in real-time. To make this happen, the developers have specially adapted the control system to make full use of the Remote and Nunchuck

Mathias Hautefort, Executive VP, Publishing & Production, Atari says, “Realizing the massive ambition of Alone in the Dark is a huge technological challenge that becomes even more demanding on Wii and PlayStation 2. However, we’re certain players will be impressed with what Hydravision have achieved on the two consoles, not least with the Wii game which is perfectly adapted to the gameplay thanks to the console’s exceptional controllers.”

Alone in the Dark for the PS2 and the Wii will be developed by Hydravision. The game is also set to release on the PS3, Xbox 360 and the PC. These versions have been developed by Eden. However, there is no word about the launch dates of the PS2 and Wii versions of Alone in the Dark.
